4 Sneaky Tricks To Burning More Calories Throughout The Day

Posted on

You may want to see those numbers on the scale go down, and you may even build an incredible diet and fitness plan. However, if you are like a lot of people, all of your efforts to make a plan will be squashed by the simple fact that you just don't have a lot of time for exercising or even strictly adhering to a diet plan. Even though it may seem like you are in a hopeless situation, with all the best intentions to get in shape, there are a lot of ways that you can sneak some calorie burning into your day without skipping a beat.

1. Wanna burn more calories? Do some extra cleaning.

It may sound a little strange, but cleaning can actually help you burn a lot of calories through the day. So go ahead and fit in small chores like making your bed in the morning, which will burn about 17 calories if it takes you 15 minutes to do, or sweep the floor, which will burn off 39 calories in 15 minutes.

2. Bust out a few jumping jacks during commercial breaks.

This may sound like a childhood activity, but jumping jacks are actually incredibly efficient calorie burners. Doing jumping jacks for just 10 minutes will burn 100 calories, but you may not be able to do 10 minutes straight. Try jumping up between segments of your favorite show and doing jumping jacks for just a few minutes. By the end of an hour-long show, you could quite possibly have fit in 10 minutes worth of jumping jacks.

3. Pace around your desk while you are on the phone.

If you're thinking you have no time for exercise because you are always at the office, try incorporating activity into your day that you can do in spite of being situated at a desk. For example, if you have to be on the phone at work, get up out of your seat and walk around while you talk.

4. Every time you raise from your seat, repeat the up-and-down squatting action.

Squats are an excellent calorie-burning activity. Every time you raise from your seat, lower yourself back down (almost to a seated position) and then push yourself back up. Repeat the process three or four times every time you get up and by the end of the day, you could have easily fit in several repetitions.
